Since the media has evolved a lot, the movies are the only way where we get to know about the artist if the movie is a biography, we get to know about dance culture and educate those people who are still not aware of it, we get to know about the history or the legacy that has been created by the great Dance artist before and how it is being followed.

1.    Black Swan

Now let me draw some line here and tell you about this movie. If you are a ballet dancer and you Love ballet, then this is the movie for you. This is a 2010 American psychological horror film dance movie where Nina Sayers tries to find her inner self while she learns Ballet.

The plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake ballet by the prestigious New York City Ballet company. They need a ballerina to play the innocent and fragile White Swan, for which the committed dancer called Nina is a perfect fit, as well as the dark and sensual Black Swan, which are qualities better embodied by the new arrival Lily (Kunis). Nina is overwhelmed by a feeling of immense pressure when she finds herself competing for the part, causing her to lose her tenuous grip on reality and descend into a living nightmare.

There has been a great evolvement on the dance movies that are being directed nowadays and one of the big examples is the Step up series. All the parts of these movies are worth watching and every part of the movie comes with a new storyline but the motive of the movie is the same. Keep it real and simple. The movie tried to show how hip hop culture is important for the people who choose it and live with it. They have done their best to motivate the dancers out there through this movie. 3.    Centre stage

Since most of the Dance movies have been made by the Australian dancers, therefore, we get to see the essence of battle in almost all the movies that have been released since now and one of the movies that has showcased Ballet is center stage. The movie revolves around a  group of young dancers from various backgrounds who have enrolled at the fictitious American Ballet Academy in New York City to take their dance as a passion forward. The movie focuses on the issues and difficulties in the world of passionate dancers, and how each individual copes with the stresses.

4.    Singing in the rain.

Singing in the rain is an old 1952 classic musical-romantic dance movie. The movie is a bit of comedy though, but you will love it! The movie draws light on the light-hearted depiction of Hollywood in the late 1920s., The movie portraits three-star performers caught up in the transition from silent films to Big screens. The plot of the movie is based on ballet and gives a tremendous motivational push to the youngsters. 5.    Footloose.

Footloose is a 1984 American musical comedy-drama movie directed by Herbert Ross. The movie revolves around a character called Ren McCormack, he is an upbeat Chicago teen who moves to a small town where he sees that the local minister of that town has banned music and dance. As a dancer how he deals with the situation has thrown big thinking about dance and music which have changed people’s mindsets regarding taking dance as a career.

The movie is loosely based on actual events that took place in the small, rural, and religious community of Elmore City, Oklahoma.
